Z-system

Central locking systems (Z systems) are mostly used in apartment buildings. This type is characterized by the fact that various central locking cylinders are locked using different insert keys. A tenant can only open the house entrance door, his own apartment, the mailbox and the cellar compartment. Access to another apartment is not possible.


HS system

Alternatively, there is the master key locking system (HS system). This category is primarily used in single-family houses, office buildings or schools. A characteristic of the master key system is that all locking systems in the system can be locked with a single master key. However, in this case, too, there are separate keys that only allow access to the rooms provided for this purpose.


GHS system

Finally, there is the option of a general master key locking system (GHS system). This is a combination of two or more HS systems. The basic principle of the master key system is further expanded through the use of master master keys, main group keys and group keys. Each group has separate group keys, which differ from those of the others. Said group members can only use their keys to open the main entrance and the assigned rooms. There is also the option of the main group key. For this, several groups are combined into one main group. A master key system can often be found in large office buildings or universities.


Creation of a locking plan


A locking plan is the basis for a reliable locking system. Its creation depends on innumerable factors and should only be carried out by a specialist. A special table shows which key fits which door and who can use it. This is indicated by crosses in the respective column. In addition to the crosses, a locking plan contains precise information on the room designation, the cylinder type, the number of cylinders and keys, as well as the emergency and hazard functions.
